In a few weeks, we will be hosting the Truett Ministry Conference: Resonating with the Room: Emotional Intelligence for Ministry Leaders at First Baptist Church, Waco, on February 9-10. There is still time to register! The cost is $100 for one person and $150 for a group of up to five. Truett alumni and friends will be flying and driving in from all over the country for this special conference - created just for you!

Truett Seminary invites its alumni to join Dr. Michael Stroope, professor of Christian Missions at Truett Seminary, on a pilgrimage walk with other Truett alumni on the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain, June 1-12, 2026. In The Challenge of Joseph H. Jackson, Jared Alcántara, professor of preaching at Truett Seminary, offers a definitive biography of one of the most controversial, complex and, eventually, forgotten luminaries of the twentieth century. Alcántara chronicles Jackson's rise to power as pastor of the largest Black church in the United States, the 15,000-member Olivet Baptist in Chicago, and as the longest-tenured president of the six-million-member National Baptist Convention, at one time the nation's largest Black organization. Journey with Dean Todd Still through Turkey and Greece on an immersive study tour tracing the apostle Paul’s ministry—from Philippi, Thessalonica, and Athens to Corinth, Ephesus, and the churches of Revelation. This once-in-a-lifetime experience blends biblical study, archaeological sites, historic worship spaces, and guided reflection across some of the most significant landscapes of early Christianity.

Hosts Joel Lawrence and Matt Kim introduce a ten-part exploration of the theology of preaching. Their guest, Dr. Kimlyn J. Bender, professor of Christian theology at Truett Seminary, discusses the theme “Preaching God, Listening Church,” emphasizing that God—not the preacher—is the primary speaker in the sermon and that Christ is present through the Spirit whenever the Word is proclaimed.

Come learn about the book of Job from Dennis Tucker, professor Christian Scriptures at Truett Seminary. This seminar, offered May 1-2, is in conjunction with the upcoming release of Dr. Tucker's commentary, Job: An Introduction and Commentary (Tyndale Old Testament Commentary Series), to be published in 2026 (InterVarsity Press). All participants will receive a complimentary copy of this commentary.

From Waco to the World - How Alumni Are Serving Internationally

As students walk the halls of Truett Seminary, the reminder to share the gospel of Christ with the world is readily found–from the hallways to the bronze globe in the Narthex with the words, “Go into all the world.” Some students come into Truett knowing God’s calling on their lives is to leave their homes in America and find new homes abroad. Other students attend, study, graduate, and serve stateside, only to discover along the journey God’s calling to serve outside the borders of the U.S. Truett alumni are now serving in twenty-two countries around the world.
